One thing when looking at the benchmarks is that you will only get top performance from this drive in a Gen 4 board. So nothing special if you are still on Intel or older AMD motherboards.

One thing I like about them though is that Seagate has actually bothered to make a Linux app. Nothing brilliant, but it makes firmware updates easier if you want to go pure linux without a windows dual boot.

Unless you are doing any form of work where you'll be writing to your drive a lot (ie video editing), you probably don't need this. The average person using something like this as a boot/game/general usage drive won't notice vs something that costs half as much.

PS this deal is pretty cold outside of Alberta considering the practically identical Sabrent Rocket 4 uses the same hardware and has no taxes on it.
