[Amazon.ca] Seiko Alpinist Sarb017 watch - back in stock!

I have read hit and miss reviews on Amazon. Hope the one I ordered is good! It's been discontinued for a while now, not sure where they found old stock.

Are these real or fake/used watches. Reviews don’t look too promising

Bought this a while back. It's hard to describe how beautiful the green dial is on this piece.

At times I'm caught staring at it as it reminds me of a casino table.

6R15 movement in this watch is one of the newer ones by Seiko. Good price for this piece.

Hmm, the new ones have already been out for over a year, why would they have stock of the old ones?

The 6R15 is discontinued, the 6R35 is the new movement with higher power reserve

Too bad it is OOS. I would have purchased it if it was new old stock, even if I had to spend a bit to get it serviced.

I bought the SARB033 from Amazon 2 years ago and needed to service it this year after it stopped running. According to the place I took it, the oil in the movement was lacking/dried out. So I am wondering if the SARB033 was old stock even then. I wouldn't be surprised if the same is needed for a new old stock SARB017 in 2021.

It’s new old stock
Sarb017 has long been discontinued
All the new alpinist now have and x logo on the face in place of the “automatic” wording

As for the 6R15, I have a SBDC001 after 13 years still running great. Had it serviced few years ago.

Thanks to everyone who helped make it out of stock. I got the King Turtle just last month, but would have been sorely tempted anyway.

You could easily double your money at that price. I`ll bet one person bought all the stock. Too bad....it would have looked great in my collection.

Love this watch. Really hard to appreciate the dial in pictures. I tried my best to capture it but you really have to see it in person.
Good price given the inflated market right now. I love my Sarb035 as well.

Hahaha you're right.. I just looked at the link now. What is up with the second picture. Looks like some odd stock picture that was photoshopped. Poorly.

Newer has an implicit meaning genius, coming out in 2006 is not "newer". Nobody is calling anything from 2006 newer, stop being so confidently wrong.

6R15s are produced and used in production, and only as of 2018 they started being used in Seiko prospex line. Their diff with 6r35 is the power reserve.

Curious if you received the watch OP? Was it in new condition, didn't seem like a return, etc?

Sorry, just seeing this now!

Received in good condition and seemed to be new. If it was a return, it seemed cosmetically to be in amazing shape. However, the crown was initially a tad difficult to open past the second click. With some use, the crown seems to be loosening up.

It's keeping great time and looks amazing!
