Does anyone recommend the wifi extender? Trying to get better wifi for my outdoor cameras by the garage. Currently I use a wired ai mesh set up with one router + one node.

If you could run DDWRT on their stuff they would
corner the market IMO

I have an RE650 and struggling with getting it working. I have V1 hardware and have issues with 5G network.

Damn, tempting... I recently switched all my pcs and laptops to wifi 6 Intel AX200...maybe time to upgrade my cheapo AX10.

I dont think you can use the custom firmware with ax6000 - i believe it uses a broadcom chip - same as AX10

The reviews of the AX6000 make it seem like the 2.4GHz radio on it is flaky, anybody have experience with it? My work will pay for a $250 home office purchase so getting the best router I can for the $250 range sounds pretty good.

I haven't had any negative experiences with mine but the 2.4ghz devices in my house are smart home items. so may not be the best sample size. Good price though, lowest I've seen.

Tempted to upgrade, but with Wifi 6E coming pretty soon, it seems better to wait if you can.

We've been saying this for a year already. Imagine a years worth of stronger bandwidth. And 6e isnt going to be wallet friendly when it's first released into the market. I say bite the 6 if you need something robust now.

Worth upgrading to one of these routers?

I have a Netgear r6300v2 atm, around 30 devices, mostly smart home stuff.

I'm not in any hurry, but just realised how old my router is and thinking its something I should be considering. Is there a better option I should be looking at?

I have 3 of their switches in service.
All non metal. Two 5 port. One 8 port.
They do what they’re supposed to and I have absolutely no complaints.
I use them for media cabinets mostly so I can’t attest to what happens when all 5 ports are saturated.

I do use one for my pc on a gigabit internet connection and it does give me the promised bandwidth!

For home use I only buy TP. The $39 AC1350 router is what I have at one corner of house on ground floor + the 2.4ghz extender ($19.99) other side of house on 2nd floor gives me range for 400 feet beyond the house for cameras/sensors no problem but I am upgrading my 2.4 extender to a used 5ghz ($33 used on amazon) so yeah...it's good
