[Amazon.ca] SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless Gaming Headset for PS4 $89.99

The deal is also available from Best Buy until August 13. This is the PS4 version, which works on everything except XBox, according to SteelSeries (you can use it wired on the XBox controller).

Overall, this wireless headset has gotten good reviews for the price. Disappointingly, it charges by Micro USB despite the USB-C wireless adapter.

These are a great line of headsets, especially for zoom calls. The mics are amazing.

Though I would recommend spending the eXtra money and buying the Arctis 3 Bluetooth as you can connect your phone via Bluetooth and say, play music or a call, and connect to your PS4/Xbox/Switch via wired, and it will mix the two audio sources together which is amazing.

Overall, not the most comfortable headband, and not light / right enough for on the go usage, but perfect for at home / gaming / remote work.

Is there actually a difference between the xbox/ps4/pc wired versions?

Xbox wireless version will work wireless with all consoles. PS4 and PC one will not work wirelessly with the Xbox. Main difference is just the dongle included in the Xbox one. Can’t find any stock of the Xbox wireless version though.

For the wired Arctis 1s, they all connect via 3.5mm, and they're all basically the same, they just differ in aesthetic styling.

The Arctis 9X was their previous wireless Xbox version, and supported directly connecting to an Xbox via wireless (pairs the same way as a controller), and/or connecting to a device via bluetooth, and/or 3.5mm. It's the most compatible version, but also the most expensive at around ~$250.

That's why at the time I went with the Arctis 3 Bluetooth, which are a lot cheaper (~$130). Unfortunately you have to use them wired to your xbox controller, but they can still be paired to your phone or computer via bluetooth so you could be talking on the phone or listening to a podcast and it will mix the two sounds together (honestly, it's my favourite feature of these headphones).

But yeah, the newest model seems to be the Arctis 1 Wireless For Xbox, which is about the same price as the 3 Bluetooth, but slightly different than all the others. It connects primarily wirelessly via a USB C dongle (with a full sized adapter) that you can plug into a phone / switch / xbox or computer. It also has the option of using a 3.5mm connection, but there's no mention anywhere of being able to mix the sound from two different sources like you can with a lot of the other headsets, and the 3.5mm cable has a different connector on the headphones end, so I suspect this feature may be missing. Also, sadly, the dongle also doesn't appear to work with any current Samsung phones for the microphone as Samsung doesn't support it properly. Another small difference which could be a positive or negative depending on use case is that the microphone is detachable instead of retractable.
