which one is more effective?
Answer would be, it depends as usual. Consult a health professional for best answer.

I browsed online for the active ingredient on the 2 Strepsils. The Blackcurrent contains Hexylresorcinol, which is a local anesthetic as well as an antiseptic, which can be helpful in a light bacterial throat infection.

The Honey one has Benzocaine, which is a local anesthetic and a full numbing effect. Excessive use of this may cause aspiration since you may lose your gag reflex temporarily.

I'm no pharmacist, and logically speaking, I guess everyone would opt for the blackcurrent one as it also contains an antiseptic agent on top of a mild anesthetic. I suppose the benzocaine is much better in terms of throat irritation relief though as it is well absorbed in mucous membrane (Lexicomp)

Does anyone know/remember how much this goes for at Costco, where a bundle of 3 honey lemon (or is it 2) is sold?
