Interesting. How long can you reuse oil for? Once more? And there's an expiration date to the filtered oil?

Price has increased to $68.82. Still bought for a birthday present but should not have waited

It depends on what you're frying. Anything that's dredged is horrible on the oil. It falls off and basically makes a roux that burns. (raw) Breaded things are next up, but that can be mitigated since it floats.

If I filter my oil, I can usually get 10 uses on dredged items. If I don't, oil quality starts suffering after like 3.
Breaded/battered/naked is about double assuming you skim. If you don't, it settles on the bottom and burns too.
And there's an expiration date to the filtered oil?
I wouldn't go more than a couple to a bunch of months. It starts getting rancid.
It's better too if you store it in an airtight container. Even better if you have a vacuum sealer and can remove the air from the jar.
Airtight and vacuumed you could probably get a year.

Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

How bad is this for the old ticker compared to air frying?

This would make some of the best keto friendly food.

Yeah, I'd like to know as well. I know my air fryer can make "fried chicken," but I've never tried it. I'd rather have a healthier ticker than an easy access to fried chicken

Done right an air fryer can make some decent crunchy "fried" chicken. Its iby no means real fried chicken as you can tell its healthier but the kids like it.

Properly fried food isn't actually THAT bad.
It's only really greasy if the temp drops too much and the food adsorbs oil.
I'm not saying you should have fish and chips for every mean forever, but the occasional fry is worth it.

Also an air fryer is an oven. It produces results that are nothing like a deep fryer. You cannot use them interchangeably.

"can" and "does well" are 2 different things.

I can't even reheat fried chicken in an air fryer without getting dark spots.
Trying to cook it fresh is going to turn to shit.

"Air frying" chicken is just a stupid idea. If it's health concerns you have, I'd rather have a really good fried chicken less often than the abomination of an oven baked chicken that someone's pretending is deep fried.

Either you have a faulty unit or you're doing it wrong.
Chicken breasts, wings and whole chickens have always turned out done right here..

I regularly make those chicken nuggets you can get at chick-fil-a from scratch in an airfryer and they taste absolutely godly. If you do it well you can absolutely make great things in it that are comparable to (albeit in a slightly different way) deep frying. Of course this doesn't work for all products, but chicken you can definitely make in it, and well too.

I am a big fan of deep frying but honestly there aren't just many (pre-made) great products for sale here for it. Fries would be the main thing but you can make these perfectly fine in an oven/airfryer. Back home in The Netherlands 'deep frying' is quite popular with the classic products especially made for deep frying. Frikadel, Kroket, Bitterballen, Viandel, Gehaktstaaf, just to name a few. Things I see being better made yourself in a deep fryer would probably be fried fish, popeyes type chicken, and schnitzels
