[Amazon.ca] Tamron AFA025N700 SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Nikon Mount) - $699.99

Just got a price alert for the Tamron AFA025N700 SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Nikon mount. Shipped and sold by amazon.ca. It looks this price beats the recent low by about $700. It's about a quarter the price for a current 70-200 2.8 from Canikon, for about 90% of the performance.

Edit: Canon and Nikon versions on sale at Best Buy as well (thanks @pppcanada!)

Woah, great find, OP. Tamron really kills it for affordable alternative lenses for the holy trinity. I've wanted a zoom lens for a long time but couldn't afford the Nikon price. Couldn't resist this. $808 all-in to Quebec.

OMG! Thank you. Best Buy has the canon version for the same price. Now I have to figure out how to tell the wife how I needed a telephoto while I'm pretty much stuck inside the house.

by the way...with teleconverter you can extend the focal length up to 400mm!
This is the better buy. Best Buy is an authorized seller so you get the Canadian warranty. Amazon comments say it's a grey market lens so only 1-year international warranty applies.

I have had the nikon 70-300 (4.5?) since the longest time.

Looking for some input, should I even look into this one?

I'm currently laid off like the rest of Canada, so I don't think any argument I made about needing this lens would fly with the wife right now. :(

This lens is a constant f2.8 good for low light and portaits.

Great deal...I paid almost 1.5x for the same lens and have never seen a deal like this in Canada. Super sharp for indoor sports.
