I've had tons of Taotronics stuff, mainly different lamps. I think they're a great brand in terms of performance and value. Haven't one one fail on me yet. Another desk lamp of theirs is still kicking strong after 6 years without a single led dying. All the chinese led floor lamps that I had, however, are a little meh in terms of brightness. Good as a reading lamp and its flexible to position, but not much else.

I also have a really nice metal Taotronics desk lamp. I've looked at this floor lamp before, but because of its convertible design, I don't like the way the power cable is half way up the neck and it isn't illustrated very well in the marketing images...

This Costco lamp is incredibly modern, bright, and well reviewed. I bought four of them with the intention of keeping 2, and giving 2 to my parents. I kept all four..

Ordered 2 more.

Surprised no one already posted these here.

The Costco one may look better but it's only 3000K which is yellow light.
For reading, 5000K is preferred which the Amazon one lets you choose.

Ya, saw that and wondering which of the two of these would be the better choice?

I own a TaoTronics lamp with wireless charger and it makes for a good desk lamp. As mentioned, it's not the brightest but is more than adequate for reading. Just don't expect this to illuminate an entire room.

To note for anyone getting the wireless charger model, there is a known defect that the pads can stop charging, and the workaround is to unplug and replug the lamp. Contact TaoTronics if you get this issue for reimbursement.

Nice find, OP

Anyone knows TaoTronics? Reliable? Costco's one is nice, but no bending neck (for reading) and as another one said, only 3000 K kills the deal for me...

And, if I am not mistaken, Costco's one, even if it is a "hot buy" is still at regular price? Reduced prices at Costco aren't $xx.97 ?

Just wondering, why would I get the old one for more expensive with the new one with an extra colour is slightly cheaper with the coupon code. Is the old one better in quality? I am debating which one to get haha.
Thanks Op

I see one uses 10 watts and the other 12 watts of power.
The one using 12 watts should be brighter.

Damn this one is actually nice.. I might have to get it for my living room and bedroom. 3000k is not a problem considering 3000k on LEDs is still colder than a traditional 3000k light bulb.

Not necessarily. I think it all depends on the LED they used in it. I it is the same LEDs in both lamps, then yes, you are right

Really? Source please... 3000 Kelvin light colour is 3000 Kelvin, wether it is sourced from a LED or a regular incandescent light bulb. Like 100 Km/h in Canada is the same 100 KM/h elsewhere

Kelvin is a unit of measure, like Km.

Just a heads up to those considering the Costco lamp, I bought two of them last year and both had loose connections where the two arched pieces connect in the middle. I returned both. Clearly the previous poster had better luck than I did, but buyer beware anyway

There is a thread about this lamp, you should post your review there... I see that IT got quite bad reviews on Costco's page

The expensive one generate 1800 lumens, the cheaper one is 1000 lux & 600 lumens.

I prefer the expensive one, but I don't like the cable exposes half way when it is being use as floor lamp.

From one of the reviews,

- Lack of memory when power cut off prevents use with power bar or smart plug
- Non-tactile buttons difficult to “feel”, requires view of top of lamp

This are deal breaker for me.
