As a TV, it's not bad, but as a monitor it's something even better by my eyes.

The TV will do proper 4K60 with 4:4:4 RGB output for crisp text. As a TV, it may not be that bright, but it's bright enough for close proximity monitor use, which may be more pleasing on the eyes.

This is your basic budget 43" 4K TV for monitor use. With Prime fulfillment, returns are painless and free for a full refund.

These threads are always a dice roll, people sometimes like them, sometimes not, but I take the chance to share with the community.

I don't see what's the big deal? This is practically normal price for this TV. I've seen them cheaper (I've also seen them more expensive).

I have the 2019 model and there is something iffy with the pixel layout, it definitely isn't rgb or if it is the ordering appears to be more diamond like than straight. (Also paid something like $250 back then)

I really don't see this price for the TCL brand a good deal. This maybe a good bedroom TV but with 320 + tax, you can get better ones when they are on sale.
Even from superstore no tax sales is better than this.

Isn't TCL same as RCA, Haier and Proscan? If so, I am out. Just had issue with one of these cheap chinese products after 3 years of light usage.

You don't understand. It's when you open the thread, you have to chose a retailer and there's a choice between amazon.ca or amazon.com (US) you chose the later one. You could edit the OP.

No, TCL is a fairly reputable established brand from China.

RCA is a rebadge of rejected panels mainly from China.

I trust TCL by a mile over RCA.

I think the main point here isn't $320 for a low end 43" 4K TV, it's $320 for a pretty damn decent 4K PC monitor. I got one of these for $140 as part of the TCL phone promos last fall and was (am) super impressed with how good it looks as a PC monitor.

Not all 40"(ish) 4K TVs work well as a monitor.

As a TV, it's nothing to phone mom about, but as a PC Monitor it holds up surprisingly well.

Right now, actual 43" 4K Monitors are double the price, and similar 43" 4K TVs are $100 to $150 more.
