Yeah, 3 Camels hasn't had it at $450 since February. And it dropped as low as $368.65 back in April, very briefly.

I'd love that price! I was holding out, but need one and $30 is better than nothing :)

Can anyone comment on the longevity of brands like TCL and others that are sub $500? I'd hate to buy throw away electronics. my living room has had a 50 inch plasma from samsung for almost 12 years and while it still works well, an upgrade would be well worth it if it can last as long.

Only had mine for 2yrs, so far so good though. Clearance model from Walmart display so it's probably been on 24/7 for 3yrs. =)

FWIW 3Camels and Keepa miss stuff, especially discounts for short periods of time or coupon offers that bring the price down.

Anyone knows what the remote controller looks like? Or can share a pic of it?

TCL 4 Series model 50S446-CA. I wonder if we'll see 5 series down to $430 for 50" again soon.

We bought a Roku 55" TCL a few years ago from Costco. Decent enough and is on everyday. Dirty screen effect is not too bad, it's very minor on a white/light background and definitely not a distraction.. No issues at all with our cheap TCL.

Yep. Actually, I downgraded from a 32" to a 24" recently. The 32" was at 2 feet in front of me, yet I found that I was always moving windows to the center and not using the left & right sides of the screen.

Also, text resolution decreases as the screen size goes up.

I think 27" or 28" is the sweet spot for a monitor as anything bigger than that results in a too wide field of view.

Wow good deal but seems like a price error as that's what the 43" should be. I thought the lowest this went was $359 otherwise, but it could have been the $368 mentioned above, I can't remember.

Still I think we should see this go cheaper (than $399) on Primal Days, or at least I would hope unless it's just a fail of Prime Days

Protip: this tv acts just like an android phone / tablet, so you can enable developer mode, then remote adb into it and remove some of the tcl bloatware, makes it run way faster.

BIG SCARY WARNING
you can use something like Universal Android Debloater, but do so at your own risk, as you can accidentally uninstall the wrong system package and brick your tv :)

Would this remove the ability for the TV to receive updates?

If not, would the update reinstall the bloatware?

Upgraded from a 32in to 49in ultrawide. My spreadsheets spread real wide, it's immersive.

TV could recive updates that could re-install the bloatware, however as far as i have seen, android tv updates are pretty few and far in between.

I bought a 50" from best buy for $329 as well. This was right before bestbuy pulled these models from shelves briefly cause of too many software issues.

EDIT NVM I think I paid $429. I dont think the 50" has ever been that low.

I know most people shopping in this price range don’t care, but you should put the model name in the title.
