Not a terrible price, but expect a VERY basic TV.

Got the 65" for $499 Nov last year and it works for a spare TV.

I took my tcl 50" android 434 from android 9 to android 11 using the xda tcl tv forums so for me a basic tv but a 2 in 1 with just about complete control of android and apk sideloading for many iptv uses and streaming going forward when needed; hopefully android 12 in the near future as android tv gets rebranded to google tv

If anyone is looking for a TV for current gen consoles then this ain't going to cut it. The new 2020 6 series is a 9/10 Tv with 10/10 pricing in Canada.
Google TV, 4k HDR, VRR 120hz support, ALLM and Dolby playback. Google TV and the UI could be better.
They're selling the TV at par with USD (I'm assuming extra import fees for the south) so it starts at $999 for the 55" but it will surely be on sale at some point this year.

The 55" Omni TV is the same price and nearly the same TV (both made by TCL). Probably a better idea since it's a little bit better and has better build quality and costs exactly the same.

I just got the 75" yesterday. Stunning, and I am coming from a Pioneer Elite Kuro.

Anybody ever have to deal with a dead pixel on these TCLs? My 75 inch has a green pixel on the bottom of the screen and then a line going from the left to the right. It's not even 2 years old?

The 65" with Dolby vision has been a pleasure so far. Very impressed.

Its a different panel I believe, to meet the minimum requirements for dolby certification.

TBH the "requirements" are way too low anyway.

Dolby Vision on TVs like this are just DV for "the sake of saying" it has DV. dyboyman, you're not missing much without the DV as 4-series TVs are ~300 nits and don't really do any justice to HDR content. Really you want a 600 nits TV, at a minimum, for even "just there"/mediocre HDR performance. Anything significantly below that, it's nearly pointless to have DV (or any HDR) anyway. Worrying about whether a TV has DV or not, when it's 300 nits brightness, is...well it's really not something to worry about.

was looking at a 4K but maybe 43"-49". use that as a computer monitor but utilize it as 4 desktops on the screen, I think it was mentioned that gives you like a 4x 21" or 4x23" monitor view. Not going to run it as 1 large desktop but 4 virtual multiple monitor/desktop setup might be worth it. Just that a 55" might be too big but great use for it and or a basic tv with chromecast/stadia/shield tv.

500 ish on omni 65, per my read. It does get much brighter than my old Samsung.

Don't buy from Amazon if you have any alternative. They won't adjust price if it drops like other retailers do.

This is a bold, very bold claim.... considering the comparision.

To clarify, you are referring to the 6 series, not the 4 series?
