You'll never know. Just pay a bit more for something reputable. These things usually last 20+ years, so paying a one-time $20 more is nothing.

It actually transmits data to Amazon, Google, and Apple who are known to be as evil if not worse.

Mmm, no ones worse than China these days... Threatening war with Taiwan and Australia in plain speech, zero diplomacy or taste.

I bought 2 of these and used them for about 2 months, with the purpose of measuring the power used to charge up my Tesla (yes Level 1 charge only at the moment) and my mining rig.

It does the job of measuring but there are multiple instance that it turns itself off in the middle of the night for no reason. As such, wasted hours on the mining rig and an uncharged car.

If you're still planning to be using 2.4GHz WIFI in 20 years, sure, but I think very few will be using that in 20 years.

Now $25.98, $8 coupon and a 5% discount = $16.68 for a set of two, no tax.
