This one MIGHT be better for you... I believe its the newer version.

I have the version that you already bought, which is great, but its more geared toward as a smoker thermometer. The new makes it easier if you want to use it for grilling.

You can use either for smoking and grilling. The negatives with the two probe model might be:
> 2 probe vs 4 probe - extra probes are handy as you can also use a probe to monitor the smoker/pit temp, and you still have 3 probes left.
> extra set of batteries are required as you have two "units"
> you have to carry around that second unit vs a phone which you're more likely to have anyways

For a little more $, the 4 probe is better IMO.

Yes. both two probe versions that were mentioned can be used both for smoking and grilling, but imo, one is better for smoking and the other for grilling.

Why I say the TP20 is more for smoking is because everything can be set on the remote unit. So you don't ever need to be near the smoker and still be able to make whatever adjustments, such as alarm or whatever.
The TP28 is better for grilling in my opinion is because the temp settings and everything is made on the unit attached to the probes. So for grilling, you won't need to use both units.

Whether these are better or not compared to the 4 probe BT unit is really based on personal preference. I personally would prefer the TP27 which is the 4 probe that has a receiver unit.

All the being said.. would love the Thermoworks 4 probe with the Billows attachment Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes

Thanks. Was going to get TP20 for $53 all in, ended up getting the newer TP28 for $58 all in.

I love these types of things but I am primarily a rotisserie guy. Got my Dad a Meater for Christmas and it works great but with the premium $150 price. Would love a $100 version of that.

This one has a separate display versus Bluetooth to your phone app.
