I bought one of these at a thrift shop for $30 a couple years back in mint condition. It’s a very basic wheel, and uses essentially a bungee cord for resistance. It doesn’t really give you a good feel to match what’s happening on screen.

I then found a Logitech DFGT wheel for $10 a few months later, also at a thrift store, that had ffb and tried it with assetto corsa, significantly better feel.

Personally I’d save the money and buy something with force feedback.

Agreed I'd try to get a used DFGT or G25 / G27 if you can swing it, the thrustmaster would feel like a toy in comparison.

I bought a couple of these before and there not great. Also pedals are horrible and weak. Plastic breaks and theres no parts to fix you have to replace the whole unit.

Ended up buying a logitech, yes was on sale 250 but well worth the price difference for sure.

Agreed, unless this is for kids, or you will most likely look for a better one with force feedback

I would say, if you're interested in getting into a wheel, buying an entry level wheel doesn't give you a real taste for what the experience can be like.

Save the money and put it towards something like a TS300 or the Logi G920. The experience is night and day different with a good wheel - and way way more fun.

The thrust master wheel I found at Goodies in Oakville.

The DFGT was value village in Brampton (Queen St).

Regardless though, the obvious hot racing sim is GT7 right now so getting a XBox compatible only wheel might not make sense.

Today I learned I should be checking the electronics section of thrift stores.

Have an ancient xbox 360 at home I was considering setting up for kids.

Any of these force feedback steering wheels that are being discussed in this thread work with the xbox 360?

I have purchased several regular style T80, I avoided the Ferrari ones on purpose because I wanted them all the same, over the last few years from Kijiji for $20-$40. Yeah they kinda suck but I wanted multiple for a multiplayer arcade racing setup. The lack of FFB is sometimes a bonus actually, it can vary with loader/emulation setups, with some FFB wheels and some games it can be a bit too tight or a bit too loose, and we often want it off anyway for the kids (actually I gave up on it altogether), with the T80 that potential complication is eliminated and you still get a consistent tension to return the wheel to center.

I guess it all depends where you live, how much traffic the store sees, but there can be some killer finds. If I am being honest though, the number of trips I have made vs the times I actually had a big score, it's probably hundreds to one :). I think the best was when I found two complete flight sim setups, one stick+throttle HOTAS combat style, and one yoke+quad+pedals, Value Village, I forget the exact price now, each piece was priced individually, but even with tax like $50 or so.
