[Amazon Canada] Timex Time Machines Digital 35mm Watch $29.43 (kids)

I know it doesn't show as on sale but this watch is $49.99 at the Timex store and is a new release. I bought last the last generation model from Amazon for $39, so $29 for the updated version seems like a nice deal.

Couple things stand out for me that further boosts this purchase:
  • Timex provides a 1 year worry-free warranty. If the watch breaks or is LOST during the year you can receive one replacement watch for $10 handling/shipping fee. The button fell off an older model and I'm in the process of getting a new one now under this warranty. (https://www.timex.ca/kids-warranty.html)
  • The Indiglo light on Timex watches is always excellent and worth the bit extra. Kids especially appreciate this.
  • The strap is thick nylon and easy to clean and the clasp is metal so quite durable.

If it's durable and tells time accurately...it is a proper watch for my kids. Over 10? If they want a G or Seiko, they can use thier bday or Christmas money, or paycheck when they get a job, to treat themselves.
Kids don't need watches, let alone one that costs $50+. If they want to wear one or learn to read the analog clock. They can dig into their drawer and pull out the colorful rubber skechers, or with the one hockey team logo, or my little resin analog Casio. The only "improper" watches are ones that break easily and/or don't keep time properly.

Actually for a kid it’s great. You’re right though. Lots of kids want stainless heavy watches. Maybe gold, silver?
The first rule of RFD is, you do not talk about RFD.

Black one is $1 cheaper for some reason.
Good eye on price but black one has a plastic loop for the strap and is Velcro instead of metal clasp.
