Are you running third party firmware on it?

Before someone asks,
Yes, the C9 models are supported by dd-wrt with beta firmware.

Is it easy to install, or bricking a possibility?

I've been using this one for the past year and love it. Haven't even found the need to bother putting any other firmware on it and I've used them all in the past. I even had a 5 router mesh style network at my cabin years before mesh networks were even a thing.

Putting new firmwares is super easy these days so not a problem either way you go.

East GTA - Durham Re…
I bought a refurb one at FD for 69 dollars in early Jan. V1 model. Box corner was smashed but contents looks great.

Still using the original firmware it shipped with. Vast improvement over my old N300 router it replaced. I get 2.4 and 5ghz signal everywhere with it now in my house. No need to have multiple AP now. The 5GHZ is suprisingly strong. I can use my phone everywhere on the 5GHZ and my house is 3000 sqft

Seems like based on the recent reviews they'll ship you the version 1 model instead of the latest one, if that makes a difference with new features I'm not sure

59.99 sale is back at FD
coupon expires Feb/23

http://www.factorydirect.ca/coupons/couponDetails/40395

it's version 1
good as new
pretty much new as far as I can tell
I bought 2 the last time it was on sale at this price, which, AFAIK, is the lowest price ever

considerations when buying from FD: warranty is 90 days; no refund; only exchange or store credit

stock firmware works fine
ddwrt works great too

more details (ddwrt, etc.) here:

Got it from FD last month, just like new, I am happy with it. Only problem is FD says free shipping to home, but quoted $17 ship to AB, so I had to find fillers to reach $75 to get free shipping.
