I think you'd intended the subject line to be [Amazon.ca] instead of [Amazon.com], as the deal link is to the .ca.

This system is amazing. I picked it up for this price a few weeks back and has made a night and day difference in my wifi in the house. Very good system and I highly recommend

For routers that cover the newest AX tech, does it automatically cover the older tech like AC at its highest bandwidth, like ac3200+?

It's always backwards compatible. I'm not sure about the AC speeds though. However, personally I would wait for Wifi 6E.

Na man, you should wait for WiFi 10, that's gunna be like 1000x faster than WiFi 6E in 10 yrs.

Just found some info to answer my own question.

From TechRadar:

“...the older technology that made Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 5 possible still exists in Wi-Fi 6 routers, which means older devices that aren't Wi-Fi 6 compatible will still be able to use Wi-Fi 6 APs, albeit at lower Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 4 speeds.”

So for those like me who got a dedicated high speed ac3200 card, a new AX router may actually make your ac devices slower.

Really ? I'm waiting for WiFi 20 which is going to be 20 000X faster than WiFi 10 in 25 years...

You’ll need to connect the main deco with you exiting router/modem through Ethernet. You cannot add them to you existing WIFI system as a bridge.

Ah Isee, so essentially would have 2 routers, 1 with the traditional AC or N and then the 2nd router to do the AX connections?

typically you will set up in bridge mode, so there will be a single network.

Would this be much better than the Eero (not pro)? My problem is slow, inconsistent speeds (300 at modem, <100 and often <50 in most parts of house,). So far I've tried velop, the Deco M5, and now the Eero, each progressively better but still not amazing.

This only helps for WiFi 6 compatible devices. Are your devices WiFi 6 compatible?

Waiting for a good sale on the 3-node ax3000 so all 3 floors will be properly covered. Come on Black Friday! Person With Folded HandsPerson With Folded HandsPerson With Folded Hands

Hopefully TP-Link has come good on their newer routers. I had to program my Archer ac5400 to restart 3 times a day because the 2.4ghz antenna would stop working regularly - possibly overloaded. Upgraded to Netgear Ax6000 and still going strong close to 12 months now - restarted maybe only around 5 times so far.

Another good thing about TP-link is it works with IFTTT and you can program triggers when your phone connects to the WiFi - like turn on smart lights. Unfortunately, IFTTT is not completely free anymore.

One simple question, do you really need a mesh or just like a new technology? I knew the mesh system is good, but if your house is around 3500 sqft , and you just normal work at home application etc, one good router like ASUS AC86U or even 68U on the first floor would be good enough to cover the whole house.

Another thing you need consider, if you would like to buy the 3 units, the best to place the router on the first floor and the nodes on second and basement.

Personally, I am waiting for the Eero 6 or Pro 6 which are very competitively priced. There are a lot of wifi 6 devices now available, so this will future proof a purchase for several years. No mainstream wifi 6e devices, so need for that.

The eero 6 pro is ax4200 which is tri-band.

I actually bought AC1200 Deco E4 for just $100 off Kijiji and it works great across my 2500 sq. Ft home. I put each mesh station on each floor (3 floors) and my 150 mbps is actually hitting full speeds across entire house.
