Hopefully works with my firestick.
Just curious what setup you will have? Firestick to this, then to what?

I assume to ethernet cord, then switch, then router, then modem, and then the world...

The benefit is a wired connection directly to my router, so no lag or stuttering when WiFi is busy (family of 5 with 38 devices on network: always busy!).

Firestick-USB-Ethernet-Router

But just realized Firestick needs micro USB so will have to look elsewhere. Boo as this is a great deal.

Any cheap usb c to micro usb adapters? Seems silly but I'd rather buy usb c stuff now instead micro usb

What gender on the plugs and which conversion direction?

I use these to convert my mini USB keyboard to USB-C but you can also get it for micro usb.

I also recommend a pihole and segregating IoT devices on a separate vlan

Would recommend this.
Bought this a few months ago for wired transfers to/from my NAS. I get 120MB/s from my laptop compared to 70-80MB/s on wifi.

Go to checkout and paste OPs code on the "Gift cards & Promotions" slot. It will apply then.

Thanks OP, not sure if I need this for my future setup, but ships Wednesday so I have a day to think about it! The RFD way

Great price.. but where do you find these promo codes?

I know some are listed on the amazon site but none that give this much of a discount?

You do realize that even if it was micro usb, it wouldnt work since your chromecast / firestick still requires power?

Bought to replace the USB-A to Ethernet adapter I'm using, so I can free up a USB-A socket on my laptop for another use ..... Thanks OP.
