Oh man you're a king! I was going to order a ridiculously priced nzxt computer just to get a 3080. Thanks a ton!

Great find OP.

Not going to be jumping on these immediately myself (waiting to see which partner card will have the best cooler and/or what Red team has in store), but these cards are likely to be sold out everywhere for a while. Put yourself in queue if you're for sure jumping on one of these as an upgrade.

3070 or 6xxx series for me though.

I preorderd both of them to be on the safe side because I'm like that.

I don't understand why the 2000 series is now wildly overpriced everywhere.

I guess everyone wants to keep the stock. Forever.

A 2080 super is now worth maybe 500 dollars. Not 1000.

I know it's all OMG when embargo was lifted yesterday, but unless you are getting the 3090, I would hold off until 6000 is announced.

While I don't think AMD have much fight in this in the top end, people who are considering 3070 (and the fact that there is already a mysterious sku on 3070 ti) means that 6000 series could be better bang for $ unless you are dead set on a 3090.

This was going to go two ways on price. Assuming the 3000 series sells out, demand will probably be high for the 2000 series causing the price to increase or the opposite could of happened where price would of continued to dip. In this case the 3080 sold out in minutes. At the same time you see people selling their 2080 on EBay for like $600-700 CAD.

It won’t be for a while before we really start to see the 2000 series dip in price (MSRP).

It will take time for people to be willing to swallow the 2080ti price drop, market should push them down to $500 tops. Keep in mind 2080ti was never good value for performance though. People still asking for 1200$ for their Radeon 7s, they will be hit the hardest....

Miners will keep the prices high...Vega is real good at mining, the VII took that to the next level.

The 3080 is 20% on average faster at 4k (15% on 1440p and 10% on 1080p) than the 2080 Ti, and the 3080 sells for $1000 on average. If you do the math the 2080 Ti fair price is around 750-800. Nvidia mislead everyone on the performance of the 3080, it's only exceptional due to the price. There's no way the 3070 is on par with the 2080Ti. I don't understand how you get 500$ for the 2080 Ti when the 1000$ 3080 is only 20% faster, someone needs to teach you some math.

I think you're underselling it a bit: "you're looking at an average range of 65 to 80 per cent more performance up against 2080, and around 24 to 37 per cent more grunt than 2080 Ti"

Bitwit Kyle got 20% on average faster at 4k, 15% on 1440p and 10% on 1080p. Meanwhile Paul's Hardware got 24% on 4k, and Gamers Nexus had around 25%. So I guess I'm underselling it since those are the numbers I saw on my reviews. Those are some pretty reliable sources if you ask anyone. I've literally never heard of eurogamer, but these youtube channels have millions of subscribers.

It was part of the Nvidia announcement that the 3070 is faster than the 2080 TI. And they are selling them for $499 (USD) which is about $660 CAD.
