For people looking for how this knife shapes up against others:
It seems to be universally loved on reddit: https://redditfavorites.com/products/vi ... chef-s-ffp
It is the top pick of America's Test Kitchen: https://www.americastestkitchen.com/equ ... efs-knives (included picture because you need an account to view the ratings)Image

I couldn't find much directly comparing it to other leading knives. Best I found was this: https://www.wired.com/gallery/best-chef-knives/
Which says that the Victorinox is the best beginner knife. Its criticism is for the "construction", which I expect is referring to how the blade enters the handle (it doesn't have the holding notches that other knives do).

I was looking into this for myself, but hope others find this helpful.

I have two of these, one from a while ago, and one bought 1.5 years ago. Nice textured grip and really good all 'rounder for the budget crowd.

I got it at $37.71 last October as a lightning deal. Great knife for the price.

Fantastic knife well worth the full price.
Comfortable and very sharp. Can slice vegetables razor thin and slice through raw steak/bacon like its butter
Just be careful and watch your fingers.

I bought one 4 years ago and it's my go-to everyday knife.
It's a well balanced knife. It stays sharp for a while and the edge isn't brittle.
The textured handle is well crafted.
I recommend it to everyone.

Add my review to the stack. Overall just a an incredibly solid knife, and also my everyday knife.

Without a doubt, this is one of those buy-it-for-life products.

Can't recommend it enough.

I have the 10" version. Great knife. If I didn't already have the 10, I'd be all over this deal.

I ordered it, got shipping confirmation, the got this message:
“Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. The package is being returned, and we will issue a refund within 3 - 5 business days after the return is processed. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.”

And now …. Original deal is gone, price is $49.94.
