[Amazon.ca] [WARM] Oculus Rift S - $449

Maybe a warm deal for those looking for a reliable tethered headset with clear lenses, yes clearer lenses with less godrays than Quest 2. Also, no Facebook login requirements for now.

But for those who doesn’t mind Facebook login requirement and Facebook data collection, then Quest 2 is better, but slightly blurrier optics with more god rays, and additional purchase for cable required to do PCVR

Why do people care so much about Facebooks data collection.. It's not public so it's not like anyone will know.

I am more against forcing users to log in with online account when there is no need. In Rift case, why do I need a facebook account to set up the device? It's like Windows 10 initial setup forcing user to have an online account to even log in Windows.

Unplug the network cable / turn off the wifi and you can create an offline account. Annoying, but...
