Cool, I had a flat old school one of these as a child, great for teaching hand-eye skills and spatial reasoning with this unit in full 3d, I have to resist strongly to buy one for myself!

I didn't even try to resist. I'd never heard of this, but I love the concept. I also had a flat one of these as a kid, and this spherical form factor seems like a big step forward.
