According to CCC, this is ATL.
NOT A GOOD deal, while very tempting: even more with Amazon 0% financing...but already have 1 4tb Red, 1 3tb red and 2x6tb baracudas in my NAS....

better deal here amazon-ca-4tb-red-nas-drives-104-99-bes ... #p34876830

Zoomer: 1 account for family and planning to leave for good in 2023
Koodo too: for a phone and locked to 24 months but was a good deal.

For some people, this is the better deal as this is CMR vs the SMR you linked. Likely no impact on many people, but it's important to know the difference between the two.

I recently picked up a couple of 4TB Seagate Ironwolf 5900RPM drives from Amazon at the beginning of the month for almost the same price ($109.99) and for my NAS use, I'd rather have the WD as both are comparatively the same speeds but the Ironwolf ones I have do generate a little more heat than my WD ones, especially for during the few heatwaves we have been having. WD were about 3-5c cooler than the Seagate ones in the same NAS.

Also, for my NAS use, I would stick with CMR drives over SMR, there are enough articles about it already and I'm already on slower drives here to begin with, any speed advantage counts, lol.

what's the difference between a NAS hard drive and a regular hard drive? and why don't nas use SSD?

Also, is there a reason to use a NAS over a regular computer setup as a server? (is it just electricity savings?)

Almost happy to pay CanadaComputers for shipping as Amazon cannot seem to pack these drives with any more physical protection than a damn bubble mailer. Also had one come from Amazon with other items loose in a cardboard box. Best case scenario is grinding noises/failure within Amazon's return period as you pay shipping to RMA with WD.

Damn, literally bought 3 of these yesterday for $111. Can only order 1 now due to 4 per account limit, despite the different price.

If you're still able to cancel that order it should let you order more. I've done something similar with a food product before that had a limit although haven't tested with hard drives.

Yeah, it was too late Amazon already had it marked as shipped. I just created a new account and ordered it there.
