In true RFD spirit, I bought first, asked later. Does anyone know if it would work as a bootable drive for Inspirion 5505 Ryzen 4500u? If not, is it still usable as a storage drive only? Thanks in advance.

Unclear, perhaps not easily. There are hundreds of pages to wade through, so I'm not sure what the current solution looks like.

To be clear, I've bought this particular SSD a few times, but never for a modern Dell Inspiron given the issues reported.

In it's current state, this represents a good value for money, even if it's a nerfed NVMe it's still a warp drive compared to dinosaur platters we've been using for the last 40 years.

It's a beautiful thing.

Can this be used as a bootable drive? Some reviews say it doesn't, perhaps due to old BIOS. How recent must a BIOS be to support this?

Cancelled in time. Thanks for the heads up. At this price, it would be decent for other brands laptop.

Off topic but does anyone know a way to force windows 10 to use ram as storage drive? or permanently prioritize ram usage for a particular program, such as chrome. I understand you can switch it temporarily in task manager but how to do it permanently in windows 10. TIA

Virtually any other name brand NVMe except QLC versions.

The Kingston A2000 is good value for money, and it has DRAM.

250gb is $42.99, would suffice for a lot of users looking to upgrade their factory installed SSD

Saving ten bucks for half the storage.

Tough pill to swallow.

I have 66gb free on my 120gb SSD, running Windows 11. Light usage. Does it make sense to upgrade?

You won't notice much difference at all, so not worth it to upgrade when you don't need the extra storage.
