damn, i have a 1 tb and a 500 gb gen 3 nvme taking up both slots. I can't justify replacing a 500 gb for 1 tb.

does anyone know if the heatsink version is already stuck on and can be easily removed?

The 4TB is at $410...slightly better price per TB if you're in the market for it.

The top part is easy to remove as it's held on by 4 clips from the bottom plate; you can use a thin screwdriver to push the clips away and the heatsink will fall of as it's not glued on. However, the bottom plate has an adhesive and requires more effort, time and a delicate touch .

The 1tb non heatsink version is the same price.

If you want no heatsink, just buy that one, dont void your warranty.

Great NVMe for gaming if you really need a gen 4. Really you could use a gen3 and save some money. I would even say a sata SSD but for the price of those I would just get a gen 3 the price is the same. Canada Computers has these for the same price and the 2TB for a little more savings.

IIRC this X version has no DRAM. Can the experts confirm?
It has DRAM. I confused it with SN750 SE.

This has DRAM cache. It's a very high end drive.

Yes it has DRAM. 1GB for the 1TB SSD. 2GB for 2TB.

has the exact same specs as the adata 2TB Premium SSD that was on sale for $129.99. But this has a way better heatsink but is only 1TB.

Whats the difference between the X and non-X? Just bought the 850x 2T at $240 thinking that was the best for ps5. I needed the room for GT7 :)
