[Amazon.ca] Western Digital WD Blue SN550 500GB NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive SSD $59.99, PM Staples for $44.99 after coupon

it's a budget drive without DRAM as most of you already know,
reviews are not bad regardless.
at $59.99 I think it's a competitive price and comes with 5 years warranty

PM Staples:

Does DRAM make a real life difference on a NVMe?

WDi has a Canadian warrantee depot

Authorized returns are to be shipped prepaid and insured to the address on the RMA in an approved shipping container.

Kingston although don't have a place in Canada they pay for 2 way shipping by 2 day fedex so there a good choice for warranty to. other then that most other ssd companies really aren't worth looking at as there going to force u to ship to the us at your cost.

Sorry for my ignorance, so how do you price match with Staples.ca and get the $15 off? You buy it at current price from staples.ca, apply 84835 code, call staples to make the adjustment to $59.99 and maintain the coupon?

980 since it writes to the NAND Flash memory faster after the SLC cache is full.
*This is only applicable with transferring large files

"Once the WB Blue SN550's SLC cache is exhausted, older TLC-based models will deliver write speeds of around 600MB/s while the new QLC-based model is said to offer sustained write speeds of 390 MB/s. In sustained write workloads, Western Digital's older SN550 models offer a greater than 50% increase in sustained write performance over its newer QLC-based model."
from https://overclock3d.net/news/storage/we ... _scandal/1

"Samsung’s 980 displays solid write performance out of the gate, even scoring second place with a solid 3 GBps average until after the one-minute mark. At that point, the workload saturates the 980's TurboWrite 2.0 cache, and write performance degrades to roughly 430 MBps."

Steps I took:

1. Chat with Staples - request pricematch - provide staples item number and link to amazon product. They should provide you ticket number for approved price match.
2. place order - use coupon !!
3. Chat with Staples again - request price adjustment - provide order number and ticket number.
4. Refund (price difference) will be stated in chat - issued upon delivery of product.

Do an online chat, get approval from an agent. Place your order while he/she is waiting. Check your email and give her/him order number in it. If the email takes a while to arrive, the agent shall receive the email earlier than you and he/she will ask you to confirm your shipping address and phone#. He/she will then tell you $50+tax adjustment will be made after 5 business days.

I recently purchased an sn850 which I was going to put windows on. I have a z590 motherboard which can make use of the gen 4 ssd.

I'm debating buying one of these to put windows on instead. Anyone know if I'd see a difference in boot time compared to the sn850?
