This is FBA so it is easier to return compared to shipped and sold by Huawei Canada.

Rfders said it's a good router. fast download and upload speed and more secured.

I am having trouble getting wifi connections on the 2nd floor. I'm using Shaw smart home router and it's located downstairs. I purchased a wifi extender for $60 but I still have some drop connections. Hopefully, this one will fix the problem.

One of my gamer friends said this one has TTE or TEE. basically, protects your data from getting stolen.
10+ years ago, it was very easy to crack neighbour's passwords if they are using a WEP connection. Wpa is harder.

There are other Huawei back-to-school products that are on sale right now.

I was about to buy it but heard bad things about it: no firmware upgrade, no USB, etc. Do some research.

On Merit
The OP router is a questionable offering in terms of features set and reliability, setting aside all the dark alley conspiracy theories.

Save your shekels and get an Asus AC86U or AX86U.

For people who care about the product, its good for this price point if you dont mind a less fleshed out interface and less control then you would get with netgear / asus ect. Also unable to run custom firmware (AFAIK) ect and Huawei's updates schedule so far isn't as good as other brands.
Its a buy if you want AX and want something simple set and forgot rather then being a home network tinkerer.

It's been a reliable and performing unit for me as a secondary router for my VR kit. All background chatter can be turned off in the config and I see no proof of unusual activity.

Well said. Most of these anti Huawei comments are from people who have no clue about networking equipment and just blindly believe all the crap they read on Facebook.

For $99 it's a good router

Actually, most people on FB and YT support Huawei. It's governments world-wide who consider Huawei a security threat. But to each their own.

I bought this to replace the crappy Rogers rocket modem. Very pleased with it's performance. IMHO, this is a great WiFi 6 router for the price.
