[Amazon Canada] Wireless Qi Charger (vertical stand form factor) - $19.99

Similar to the old Tylt Vü that was on Kickstarter and then retailed for $69.99 online

The biggest advantage compared to flat Qi chargers is that you can prop the phone up and still maintain full visibility of the screen. Also easier to position the phone on the stand vs having to find the sweet spot on a smaller base

Looks a lot like this one that caught fire lol:

(I realize that bad things happen to good products sometimes, but I think I have a duty to warn - given how these Chinese companies kill bad reviews with kindness, I couldn't rely on the reviews to keep me safe)

I just 3D printed a stand to hold both the phone and the puck charger I already had.

I bought this one over the holidays after my charging port failed. 700+ reviews.

Using it with the Note5, it stops charging after a few minutes. The only time it will charge 100% of the time is if the phone is turned off. Otherwise it is very inconsistent. I've tried with and without the case with no success.

im testing the time on it...at 6:30am > nexus 6 with case @8% charge
at 7:30am > @38% charge

30% in 1 hr

note: also with these things u must use a qc2.0/3.0 adapter plugin or it won't 'fast' charge...im using it with my stock nexus 6 motorola turbo qc 2.0 power plug

Thanks. It is pretty sad Amazon is an extremely buy beware sight. It has gotten worse than e-bay in that regards. At least on e-bay they don't have a long list of made-up reviews. The most that can be faked is one line comments like A+++ shipping. So you know you have to do some research before investigating. People tend to just trust Amazon.

I wouldn't recommend using wireless chargers often. I used one daily on my S7e and the battery life really went downhill fast (<2 years).

IMO wireless chargers make phones to hot which degrades the battery faster.

If you have a cheap charger that doesn't have a fan, I have the Samsung OEM charger for the S8 and it has a fan in the charger which keeps things at a decent temperature.

kinda agreed but wireless chargers have now greatly improved..they don't heat up the phone as much, i rember back couple years when those cheap 10$ ebay qi rectangular ones...those were HOT! even apple brand will get its own wireless pad this year! prolly like 100 bucks lol
