Got excited then realized this was the electric, & pricey. Been wanting a real old school sharpener for our kids as the plastic one has been broken & repair near a dozen times.

I've got this one. It's awesome, especially now with the homeschooling...

I'm trying to figure out the difference between this teacher pro and the school pro. I want to get an electric sharpener for my son. Anyone know what the difference is? From there little I could find, the school pro is better?

This is the best answer I could find posted by the manufacturer on Amazon.com

Q:What is the difference between the school pro and the classroom pencil sharpener?

A: The difference between the School Pro and Teacher Pro pencil sharpeners is that the Teacher Pro has a blue light that comes on when the pencil is sharpened. However, they both stop once they are sharpened, the only difference is the light that the Teacher Pro has.

Bought the teacher pro listed here. Thanks op!

I tried the school pro before and watched this video

I would get the school pro if they were about same price. But at a discount.. Perhaps this one is better.

One thing I like about the school pro is that it seems like there is an easy way to purchase a replacement cutter (a bit expensive though from amazon)

I watched the same video plus others, and read through most of the reviews and all off the FAQs on Amazon.com on both units. It sounded like they each had advantages. I prefer the look of the teacher pro and like that it has the led light and lower price. It seemed like most preferred the teacher pro and that it even lasted longer. There were a few exceptions. I did way too much research for a pencil sharpener, but that's how I operate lol.

I've had one for about 4 years now. It's very convenient. No problems with it at all. I paid $45 for it back then.

One of my co-workers was looking for a pencil sharpener and bought a manual xacto one from dollar tree (E Pender Street in Vancouver).

She said it works well for under $2.
