[Amazon Canada] X96/A95XR1/T95Z Plus S905X/S95W/S912 Android Boxes $22.99/$29.99/$39.99 W/FS (3rd Party Fulfilled)

These are sold and shipped by Norbi, and not fulfilled by Amazon, so buyer beware.

Some research into the company, policies and each model would definitely be prudent. I wouldn't usually recommend buying these products not fulfilled by Amazon, but prices in this instance seem quite good, if the products are what is stated and work, and the return policy is reasonable. I would also recommend testing the hardware with third party software to make sure that the Ram, Rom, and Chipset are as stated, if you do roll the dice.
They do apparently free ship from Canada though, so practical return is at least possible, and duty shouldn't be a factor.

That is the question isn't it.
At least the Ott box specs and design above seem consistent with the Norbi pics and design.

I purchased the above box about 6 months ago along with this one:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07B9V ... UTF8&psc=1

I wanted to see if Android 7.1 made that much of a difference on how the box ran and any buffering issues. So far no issues at all and they work perfectly with Kodi, Terrarium, MobDro, Vader Streams (Which I absolutely love). Sure they aren't as fast as the shield I was gifted a while back, but they work in the basement living room and my daughter's room. I never hear complaints. They are connected via wifi and use Rii mini keyboard remotes.

I personally find the Leelbox slightly faster, but not by much. Android 7.1 doesn't seem to matter all that much at this point.
I got kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bible's to the fiction section.

I've found the quality of past chinese android boxes to be extremely poor. Are these any good? The average life span seems to be one year max.

Thanks for the first hand review, and preemptive strike before the Shield, Mibox, Android TV stuff beginsWinking Face.
I find that my Android 7.1 S905W box runs a little faster than my Android 6.0 S905X box, but I am not playing 4K material at all.

Honestly who really knows about the longevity with these things.
Have you had one fail recently?

BT means Bluetooth? Didn't find in Amazon's description. Are you positive?

I never used such things before, few stupid questions:
--are there ability for streaming video through browser?
--is there google chrome or ability to install it?
--how text input works?

You are right it really doesn't say it in the Amazon description, but the Ottbox link in the second post does seem to say it and the other parameters are the same. Not 100% sure though.
No question is stupid IMO.
Yes
Yes
and you will need to use the on screen keyboard and remote direction/select keys or mouse toggle to enter text or add a USB RF keypad/keyboard or a BT one if I am right about BT.

Actually here is another product page, with comments, for the same item, I believe, showing Bluetooth 4.0

hym an s912 with android 6.? its usually stock 7.1 thats its ref sdk this is what a t95z looks like
https://www.amazon.ca/T95Z-Plus-Android ... B071NH1Q6P
If its a matter of just having a surplus of older boxes with 6 vs the 7.1 and not wanting to flash it and waste time then why not just add it as prime capable since theres oodles of surplus? regardless were talking a loss of twice what they could unload it as?? for 2gb and gigabit.
another rfd post for these norbi A95XR1 said it was a s905x when it clearly had to be a s905 w. But in this post its right? fishy or perfect hind sight by amazon seller. I wager its not an s912 its a 2gb s905x soc cause thats what a box that looks just like the photo sells it as.

plus what the hell does this mean? "No reason to return within 30 days, great After-Sale Service" wtf?

regardless too suspect, I'll pass.

Yep definitely, enough open questions to pass. I went for one anyway. Glutton for punishment, I guess.
If you notice that they do reference the Ott box Xplayer in the product description, and a search of that does show a matching OTT model with an S912 and Android 6.0, as in the second post, and other sources.
