[Amazon.ca] XFX RX 5700 XT Triple Dissipation Graphics Card - $478.69

I know I know... Rumours of Big Navi and Ampere are still around, and most suggest they could be available later in the year.

This is a three fan 5700xt for quite a good price (looking at other prices of GPUs at the moment). Currently in stock July 22.

There aren’t really many reviews of this thing. What I did read was that the fan needs to be sped up to deal with temperatures.. I’m not sure whether Drivers in these in general are improved from the past.

I guess you could contact them on chat?? No idea whether they will reduce though.

Have you got the item yet?

Good find OP. Has the driver issues been resolved so far for Radeon? I need a graphic card for eGPU and don't know if this works well with DaVinci Resolve 16.

I imagine you could probably contact them and get them to refund the difference, or send it back?? Although I don’t know!

For the driver question, I am still a little unclear. I’m seeing less complaints about the drivers when I look at posts, but it looks like there are some problems.

"Only"??? I'm not sure if your post was meant to show the better value or that you actually think spending $700 is better than spending $500 just because Nvidia?

Great valued video card. A lot of the driver issues were resolved but I personally still get some issues, like black screens (which can be resolved by turning on and off the monitor when it happens).

Despite the issues, I would still take it over paying the Nvidia tax.

nvidia has raytracing amd cuda cores. well worth the "tax".

Nvidia also uses DLSS 2.0. will be a real game changer for upcoming games, AMD has yet to make anything like that

Depends on your needs. The Nvidia equivalent is a 2070 Super, which goes for roughly $650-700 on sale. If you have a specific reason to spend almost 50% more for CUDA or Ray Tracing, go for it.

AMD has their own tech, Radeon Image Sharpening, which works on all games, except DX11 games.

well, if it meets a need and Nvidia are the only ones who offer it, then it's not really a "tax". the 2070 Super offers ray tracing, CUDA cores and a slew of ML/DL stuff to upscale games to make it higher quality, much more than the best amd cards in the market. the only reason to go for a 5700 xt is for hackintosh or using it as an egpu fo ryour MBP..
