XFX Speedster MERC319 AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Black Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6 $1574.99

Good card not reference board price but far cheaper than they were a few weeks ago, between 3080 and 3090.

Isn’t it cheaper to buy it from AMD directly. AMD has weekly drops at 10am EST. I believe it is around $1410 taxes in (Ontario) for 6900XT

If you get lucky yes, but as pointed out many times previously that's setting yourself up for disappointment.

People are having a hard time selling them on Kijiji for anything more than cost and used ones are under.

Sounds pretty normal, nice to see a return to normality.

Yes if it was available to everyone to buy weekly that would be a much better idea. The reality is you could be waiting months before you find one on there.

XFX is a AMD only manufacturer; not as popular as ASUS, EVGA and MSI as they are bigger with NVIDIA cards

AMD cards are generally less well known, and less well regarded in terms of game support and features. This is the perception, not necessarily the reality.

People aren't buying up GPU's to mine for ethereum now as it may not be mineable in the near future. Bitcoin is also stalled, price wise, going on 6 months. I also think most people who would or could buy a $1500 GPU have already bought one. There is also a sense that waiting for the Nvidia 4000 series might keep a lot of buyers waiting in the wings.

All of those factors together = extra cards on shelves, and a need for cards to move, so prices drop.

I briefly owned a 6900XT and then sold it, I don't want to be a video card bag holder over the next 6 months.

These halo cards are generally bad value even at MSRP, this is less than 10% faster than the 6800XT. The 6800XT is now available in stock for under $1300 and prices are still dropping. Getting a card at MSRP is possible if you're patient, I managed to get a 6800XT directly from AMD last year (twice actually, but my credit card company decided to block it the first time).

Patient = lucky and waiting possibly months to get lucky AMD's queue system is awful, but I digress, get this card, don't get this card, if you want the top end AMD card this is it and it's from Amazon if you're not happy you can return it.

I tried 3 or 4 times with AMD and ended up getting the 6800xt 3 weeks ago. Those can cards go for $50 to $100 over on Kijiji and a few hundred under retail versions. Retail card prices are still junk.

I just had to ask what’s a video card bag holder? Lol

For the deal though, glad to see cards not crazy over MSRP. Good timing with the mining craze stalling and also the newer stuff on the horizon. Great explanation in your post though.
