[Amazon.ca] YI 1080p Home Camera, Indoor Wireless IP Security Surveillance System with Night Vision - $34.99!

Surprised no one posted this. At $34.99, it's the same price as boxing day. I picked one up then and cannot be happier. I use it indoors and I love the fact that it sends me a notification when it senses motion!

Dome is also on sale @ $44.99 but someone has already posted that here.

I own the dome version.
Your better off paying the extra 10$ for the remote panning/controlling.

I think my dome is set to really sensitive so it often catches useless videos of leaves blowing or cars passing by.
There are rare times when it fails to catch the start of a movement (eg: you might see the video filmed once your already on the steps vs walking the sidewalk towards the steps).

Cloud storage isn't free but viewing sd card footage is.

I've had this camera since boxing day and I'm pretty happy with it. I don't seem to get alerts unless I actually open the Yi app on my phone. I recently applied the Yi hack for RTSP access, but I haven't gotten around to setting up Zoneminder. I can watch the live stream on VLC...

I have two Xiaomi cameras on order, but they are taking forever to get here, so I can't make a comparison...

Low cost method to remotely keep an eye out on my surrounding property.
I have several pointed out windows and it's more for my personal peace of mind.

I have been pretty happy with wyze cams, I like the 14 days of storage of videos for free and the constant software improvements.

I am Prime. I see the correct prices for all the other cams. Dome and Outdoor Prime pricing. Regular cam is $49.99, bug?

Does this support live view on an Amazon Echo show for example ? I see there is an Alexa skill but it seems to be only for turning the camera on/off.

I'm searching for a camera that I could place near my newborn and from where I can access directly using my Echo Show in the home...

Real-Time Streaming Protocol. Basically, if you want to run your own surveillance software rather than rely on the YI cloud service, then RTSP is a basic requirement.

Yes, it's a bug. Mine does that too but I refreshed the page a few times or searched it manually on Amazon and it showed up as the sale price. I suspect it is because I already own this camera from the last lightening sale (December) and it thinks I've already redeemed the promo coupon this time as well.

Yes you can! Their app is pretty nice. It sends you push notifications when a movement is sensed as well (at least on ios)

If anybody in GVR bought this and is having second thoughts, I'd take if off your hands.
