i have the non nightscape version for a while now, assuming missing the STARVIS sensor? It's serve me well so far, very good for a no frill dashcam option. The app works well enough as well and you can do wireless transfer of footage, albeit very slowly

the old version without STARVIS the night footage already quite good... tho do know at 1080hp unless you are tailgating someone zooming in to read license plate will be tough LOL, but that in general is more for hit n run situations anyways.

Any reason why this one is better? Is it the lease?

Yes, it does survive Canadian winter.
My 1st Yi dashcam was from 2016 (older version)
I have exact same model for my other car since 2017

Can anyone attest to it;s night mode? I bought this Aukey Dashcam a couple months ago - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07HVN ... UTF8&psc=1
The cam works great but at night it cannot read Licence plates and all. I've been thinking about returning it.

Based on the customer reviews/images, it seems you can't even read license plates during the day with this unless the cars are stopped.

This seems like a good camera for accident documentation but not good if you are in a hit and run as the camera can't resolve license plate information.
