Bought one last year and promptly returned it.
As you rotate the camera to it's max rotation it will freeze and reset.

Yi hack v4 has it under development. I use it for the RTSP and MQTT support.

Does anyone have good instructions on how to get the indoor ones working in Canada?

I bought a couple from that other Chinese site but I'm having issues installing it

Lol, that's not a camera feature, you probably got a dud. Can't give up on a product based on one occurrence/QC control issue.
I've had 2 of these running for over a year with no problems...

I remember downloading the app, plugging in the cameras and connecting them to the wifi, it all just worked from the get go.
Could it be that the ones you got were knockoffs ?

No they're real Yi

I think where the problem lies is the server - I think for Canadians we need to use the US server as there's no Canada one.

Anyone out there remember the steps?

WTF are you rambling about?
I went out and bought another Chinese branded 360 camera and guess what, I can rotate it in whichever way and it doesn't freeze!

I think the latest version of the app prevents the cameras from being used in North America. You'd have to sideload an older version of the app (via apkmirror) on Android.

Not sure about Yi, but Xiaomi has started restricting use outside of Mainland China via geolock.
One of my 360 Dafang camera is no longer connecting and I have been sending the factory requests to unlock for the past several months now.
