[Amazon.ca] Zojirushi NS-ZCC18 10 cup $140

Sale on amazon so if anyone did not get this earlier at Walmart might be able to pick one up now. I returned the $80 tiger rice cooker from Walmart after I managed to get a Zojirushi because it is way better.

I would love to get a Zojirushi, but I feel like 10 cups is way too much if it's just for one or two people. Would I be better off waiting for a sale on the 5.5 cup?

If you're talking about good rice cookers, some do a ton more stuff like congee or bread, porridge, cake, etc Can handle different types of rice (sweet/sticky rice which requires more cooking time) better. Some have timers, some are better at keeping the rice warm, etc, etc. You'd have to do research. SOme are a few hundred dollars like the ones with IH (Induction Heating). Basically it all comes down to what you expect a rice cooker to do/what you'd want it to do. Then from there weather or not you realize the difference in cooking quality is personal preference. Oh ya some have better non-stick bowls than others, last longer, taste better (not the bowl, the rice it cooks).

Also do note that even though Zojirushi IS a Japanese brand, some of their products/models are sometimes made in China. I personally tend to stick to the ones that state on the actual physical product (printed on) that says it's made in Japan.

I haven't seen the 5.5 cup ones going on sale as often. If space is not an issue, get which ever one is the best value. The Tiger one I got earlier from Walmart for $80 required me to cook a minimum of 2 cups while, the Zojurishi can cook 1 cup of rice. The measurements are all in Japanese cups which is around 0.85 of a standard cup.
