I was just about to pull the trigger on the v2 last week. Glad I didn't until now

The second these or something like this can integrate with Google Home, I am IN, super tempting!

Went with a closed loop POE camera set up because 4 wifi Nest cameras would kill my internet data cap as well as those insane subscriptions costs.

How's the motion detection? Is it sensitive enough to detect outside movement if I placed it on my front window to monitor the front of my home?

If I can get rid of my Nest subscription that would be awesome.

The v2 I find is quite sensitive but I use them indoors. I have mind set to 40% else it alerts for dust particles nearby!

hmm I wonder if anyone does what I do

Nest's cameras are pretty darn good, maybe too sensitive sometimes that it mistakes cars for people, but I really don't mind it

What I do mind is the $7 I pay every month.

I have the regular version (the non pan tilt version) and I use it for the exact purpose you describe. I find it is the simplest, most cost effective camera for that purpose. You can adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection and it definitely picks up everything. We have it set up looking out our office window towards the front of the house to be able to see when someone's at the door. Only thing I can't speak to is how well it picks up motion further out, as our setup is only a few feet away.

Had the wyze cam Pan home, freaked the wife out, the way it would follow her around the kitchen. It works pretty good. But i didn't see the need for it at the time and returned it. Still have wyzecam v2, working great, keeping an eye on the backyard, once I can figure out a power source, want to get one to monitor the front door.

help me understand. it makes a video and uploads it?

it says free 14 day storage.
does that mean 14 day of record time storage? or 14 day free trial which expires in 14 days?

Thanks!
