i think Amazon is just matching the staples price on this printer. if you head over to the Staples Canon thread you can order the printer & paper online for pickup and apply the 10% off code and total after tax comes to $125.09 (Ontario) which i did earlier today.

the staples sale is for the weekend only so this deal will probably end shortly.

I can't see the price that you are talking about. Staples has this printer for 149.99 before discounts.

Short answer is yes.

It uses totally different technology than anything else you can do at home. I had a Selphy, and the way the cartridge works, it has 3 colours on it, plus a clear film, and the printer itself uses thermal printing to transfer the different colours over the photo (a 4x6 sheet) -- it does this 4 times, 1 for each colour then one for the clear coat, then you have your picture. It looks basically identical to what you'd get from a developer. No ink to smear.

For sure worth it, especially if the 4x6 size is what you want. I still have pictures from the first gen Selphy I had back in 2002.
