Is this game still challenging for pcs to run? Used to be a benchmark for gpus: "can it run crysis?" Is that still the case ? What would you recommend for pc hardware to play these with everything on max?

Deal expired. I couldn't get into the cart. It says email to notify once available. Also it says expired on Slickdeals site as well.
For those who got it, still worth playing for the visuals compared to the new age cartoonish games.
Cheers

Again, no it’s not. I just added to my cart and went to check out.

Thanks OP! I remember when this first came out, and I had to build my computer according to spec, to be able to run it. I absolutely adored the graphics on the original game.

I playing it again now, gonna try and finish it this time...running on a RTX2080 at 1980*1200 with Ultra everything....from 70-120FPS...I'll try on the internal 4K 15inch screen....just to see the FPS...but it will take a larger GPU hit as I'm using a eGPU setup and Thinkpad.

But man this game is still awesome looking and great to play!!!

Crysis 1 runs fine in 4K with a 1070

Not at all. Even Crysis 3 is 6 years old at this point and any mid range hardware from the past 5 years can easily run it at 1080p/60fps. The Crysis meme expired and there are far more demanding games out now

Can't check right now, but Origin has the trilogy on sale as well.

Really enjoyed the first Crysis. Not only was it visually spectacular, the open-ended gameplay and strategic elements made it unique.

Sadly 2 and 3 followed the linear cinematic run and guns of modern shooters and thus failed to stand out.
