[Amazon] WD 10TB My Book Desktop External Hard Drive - WDBBGB0100HBK-NESN - $244.96CAD ($178.90USD) after import and ship fees

178.80 USD includes import fees/taxes and shipping fee to my place in Montreal, QC
178.80USD x 1.37 (avg Forex used by Credit cards) = 244.96

Does it have the WD Red inside? I'm wondering if I can use it in my NAS.

It has a white-label RED drive inside.

at this price I should order 2 from each amazon.com (334.65$USD) and 2 from B&H (336.71$USD) after all fees. = $671.36 /40 tb = $16.784 per TB or $23.4976 CDN per TB

5 x 8tb WD from Amazon Canada CDN$ 1,068.10 /40 tb = $26.7025 per TB

$26.7025 - $23.4976 = $3.2049 per TB x 40 TB = $128.196

So there is a saving of $128.20 when buying from the USA

Do you know if it can be pulled out and used in the NAS?

Deal is dead on Amazon but B&H is still good although it might take a while.

the drive inside is WDC WD100EZAZ-11TDBA0
and you will need to deal with 3.3V Pin issue https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to ... el-Disks-/

If you have a synology NAS, they should be plug and play on most recent models. Other brands of NAS or DIY you may need to deal with the 3.3V pin issue.

Are you not worried about it being dead on arrival and having to return it to the USA?
