It's a complete remaster rework of the game. The game will have a few extra bonuses but it's the same as the originals but redone..
I will definitely grab this as I remember loving to play at a friends house back when I was 10 years old.

It is 5$ off as stated by OP.

It is a remaster of the Naughty Dog-made Crash Bandicoot games (1-3) but Naughty Dog has no involvement in remastering the original games.
Activision bought the Crash Bandicoot character around the year 2000 so they are responsible for remastering the games using their own resources.

eventually the earth will run out of the materials to make discs so by RFD February standards this is a hot deal.

They should have included the originals in this remake. I would be more than willing to pay an extra $20-30 for it.

FYI according to the devs this is a "remaster plus", not a "remake.

Anyway I agree, but I don't remeber any remasters that did this. In terms of actual remakes though, Splatterhouse PS360 had the original games, as did the recent Shadow of the Beast on PS4.

"They said that they do not consider it a remake, because they did not "fully remake them". They used Naughty Dog's original level geometry to rebuild the gameplay from scratch. As the levels were coming together, they also added their own art, animation, and audio."

To me, it's basically a remake that remains very faithful to the original.

This is a proper remake, and one that publishers SHOULD target. Hipster purists can prefer the OG... but I'll gladly play the version that upgrades any and all gameplay/design flaws.

Some turds reported this as expired. Oh well.

Definitely looking forward to this game. Crash will finally be introduced properly to a new generation.
