Max settings and hardware intensive triple A games? That's really going to determine what will stretch your hardware limits. As for the freesync, it used to mean you were locked to whichever GPU maker in Freesync's case it was AMD, but Nvidia allowed G-Sync compatible GPUs to work with Freesync. It doesn't quite work as well the other way around being G-Sync with an AMD card, the old ones will not allow an AMD card to use G-Sync, newer monitors with G-Sync with the new firmware in theory should work.

Personal preference, hold onto the RX 570 and wait for the next generation of GPUs to drop. This GPU war is expected to be a very competitive one, so hopefully its finally good value for GPUs. High expectations that they'll release later this year, RDNA 2 appears to have great specs on the consoles. Nvidia's GTC 2020 announcements are coming in literally 10 days(May 14). AMD has said they're on track with their timing for both Zen 3 and RDNA 2, and big navi was promised for 2020 so RDNA 2 is coming. We'll see if Nvidia will make the first move(their biggest game target is Cyberpunk 2077), AMD is expected to launch their PC RDNA 2 line after the consoles.
