You can't transfer to aeroplan directly but you can transfer to marriot bon voyage for 1:1.2 and then marriot to aeroplan at 3:1. Not great but if you use this card for groceries or buy gift cards at groceries than it's not bad.

I have a Scotiabank Amex gold and the personal gold, and got placed on a 10 day review for this cobalt. Will the 40K + GCR $100 still apply if I get approved later on?

Yes as long as you applied through GCR and get approved after the review you should get the $100

Im confused how this card is good at all?

Debating getting it but if its 1:3 for the plat points what do you guys use the points for? if I spend a lot on food isn't the platinum better?

It really depends on what you want to use your points for. Personally, I use it to transfer Marriot Bonvoy to Alaska Miles. Alaska Miles are hard to come by. I have an MBNA Alaska World Elite but with this 40,000 AMEX promo it is actually better for me to use my Cobalt card instead of the MBNA card. For example, if I spend $1500/month on food for the first 3 months, I would get 40,000 MR-S ($1,500x5 = 7,500 + 2,500 bonus/month + 10,000 bous after 3 months) points which = 48,000 MB points. That converts to 16,000 Alaska Miles. If I spent the same amount of money on my MBNA Alaska WE I would only get 4,500 Alaska Miles. So for me, it is absolutely worth it.

Anyone with a personal plat that can comment? Is it worth it to get the card?

Do you currently have the Amex Personal Platinum? As far as I can tell, Personal Platinum only gives you 3x points on "dining" which I don't think includes groceries. So unless you spend $1,777 per month on dining alone, I don't know how that would be a better return with Amex Platinum.

Which airline are you hoping to transfer to?

Personal plat is good but Biz Plat is better (if hitting the spend is not a problem and you have a spouse/P2 to refer)

Not sure what airline? id just rather use my points for business class flights. I do spend around 3k on food a month, and about 500 in Gas a month, so you think I should get it or? I dont really buy groceries..

I suggest you look into frequent flyer programs then. Each FF program has their own sweet spots. Business class are (usually) way better use of FF points than economy so it's good that you want to use it for that. But again, it all depends on where you want to go.

For example, I am planning a trip to New Zealand. With Alaska Miles, I can fly business class on Fiji Airways round trip with 2 stopovers for 110,000 Alaska miles with very minimal fees. If I did this same trip with Aeroplan points, it would cost 160,000 points rountrip with 1 stopover and likley high fees because it is really hard to find business award availability on Air New Zealand. Therefore, I would likely have to fly Air Canada business class with $500+ in fees. So, it really depends on where you want to fly with which airline you want to use.

Keep trying different browsers/vpn/incognito. Hopefully you will see the 40,000 points.
