I made a reservation via Amex FHR (Fine Hotels & Resorts) for September. Payment due at checkout at the hotel. I’m hoping this credit would still trigger.

Thanks for sharing I was wondering whatever happened to the old link for Scotia Amex cardholders. You can't see any active deals anymore and can't see any offers even under all categories option.

It definitely looks like it should as I don't see anything in the terms for either offer stating that they wouldn't stack. Now I might have to upgrade my reservation in Vancouver next week to hit $350 so that I can get a $120 credit.

I remember that online gift card purchase is through a different company, so it likely won't work. In-store gift card purchase should work, but Fairmont runs 20% sale every year on its own, I don't see the point to take advantage of this offer for gift card purchase. In my opinion, you get the most value through FHR with this $70 offer, because normally we cannot use gift cards to pay for a FHR stay which means we are paying at least 20% more when booking through FHR for a stay in Fairmont. With this offer, we basically get a rightful discount on Fairmont properties.
Anyway, staying in Fairmont is expensive, $70 credit is not a lot. You don't want to stuck with $350 gift cards and have no much use of it.

Got it on SCP.

Received all 3 hotel offers (Bonvoy $50 off, generic $50 off, and this one).

See my post in the Amex Offers thread in the credit card subforum:
rhw123 wrote: Scotia Amex offers website is definitely broken. Homepage still empty but I extracted the offer ID from Amex portal and was able to bring up the Fairmont offer for Scotia cards:

https://www.americanexpress.com/ca/en/n ... fer=633477

If any other geek out there could be so kind to extract the offer ID for the Esso offer, that would be great (I don't have it on my Amex cards).
Use browser developer tools, network tab, filter on XHR requests.
Log in to Amex portal, then open/expand the offer and find the request that looks like a random string, like Nz0hZUYzWmksOzY5Om9ReDl5SShLLw.
The in the response body, look for "source_id" in the JSON data.

This offer was in 2019, and I booked a stay through FHR to get the credit. However a week ago, I booked a Fairmont stay through FHR, and the charge was under Amex travel not Fairmont. The credit was activated. I called Amex travel and they had difficulty in deciding to honour the credit or not. The agent got couple people on the line to figure out a solution. At this point I gave up. I said That I would call again after the trip.

I think this could be combined with StayVancouver Promotion, as payment is through the hotel directly. If you happen to have Discover BC (50 off 250 from Amex offer), the total discount would be $245(125+70+50), I might book one night for stayfication.
