[American Express] Bonvoy AMEX - 65k pts, $100 statement credit ($1500 MS for Personal $60 GCR / $3000 MS for Business $75 GCR)

Lots of credit card deals these days, here's another one.

Pretty smoking deal.

In short for Personal Bonvoy.
Bonvoy gives 65,000 points + $100 statement credit after $1500 spending in 3 months.
Sign up at GCR for $60 rebates.
Annual fee is $120.
https://www.greatcanadianrebates.ca/det ... tt-Bonvoy/

So the math:
$120 AF - $60 GCR - $100 statement credit = You make $40, and 65k points after minmum spending.

Another deal, but not as good is the Business Bonvoy.
Bonvoy gives 65,000 points + $100 statement credit after $3000 spending in 3 months.
Sign up at GCR for $75 rebates.
Annual fee is $150.
https://www.greatcanadianrebates.ca/det ... -Business/

So the math:
$150 AF - $75 GCR - $100 statement credit = But make $25, and 65k points after minmum spending.

Wooo Thx OP! Forgot about Bonvoy with the hot deals on Gold/Plat etc.

Don’t forget friends Marriott dynamic pricing starts on March 29 so only about 10 days left.

Make sure to book those speculative trips!

No way the business is worth it if you havent done the personal bonvoy yet. 15 bucks for 1500 spend?

Doesn't go fully dynamic till next year. Bands will be in place for a list of hotels that is published online on many websites.

Alternatively for the personal bonvoy, you could apply through a referral link and get 70k bonvoy points + $100 statement credit statement with a $3000 MS. No gift card though.

With 1 point = $0.009, the extra 5k points are worth $45, better than the $10, at double the MS though.

Exact same deal for business bonvoy.

Not sure if I’m allowed to post the link but I got the application link from Prince of Travel for the 70k bonus.

Is it just me or are Bonvoy points only useful if you're seeking a 5 star hotel?

I'm just your average Joe seeking 2-4 star hotels and the cash price for hotels in this state range was much better than using points. Like 35k points for a hotel that costs $200-250/night= rip off

What's this dynamic pricing someone mentioned above? Is it going to make Marriot points even more worthless, or improve the program?

You forgot to calculate the lost $60 from GCR.

Therefore the referral path is worst and more spend requirements.

You are right, my apologies

I will also say, OP used $150 for the calculation on the personal bonvoy, when on the AMEX website the AF is only $120, so you’d actually make $40 not $10. Better deal for sure

What hotel is charging 350k/night, aside from 5 star hotels that have a room rate of $1000+/night?

Not sure which regular hotels you see at 350k points a night. I Just spent 17.5k points for a night at a hotel in GTA this past weekend with the cash price of $200 (adding taxes and fees would be close to $250).

Sorry I meant 35k, but my main point was that it was hard to find a hotel that gave me more than 1 cent per point value. I was searching for LA, so maybe it's city dependent. Or maybe I'm searching incorrectly, if someone can suggest me anything in LA with decent value via points?

What is the best use of these points if travel is not your thing. Does the refundable hotel trick work with amex ?

Bonvoy points aren't worth 1 cent per point. For reference, Bonvoy converts to AP at 3:1 ratio.
