[American Express] [Cookin] Spend at least $50 and earn $50 credit - GTA only

Found this on AMEX offer today.

Spend at least $50 in qualifying purchases using your registered Card on the Cookin mobile app by 24/06/2023 and earn a one-time $50 statement credit.

To be eligible for a $50 (CAD) statement credit, one single qualifying purchase or cumulative qualifying purchase(s) that total at least $50 (CAD) after taxes and applicable fees, must be charged to your registered Card on the Cookin mobile application during the offer period and subsequently posted to your account.

Check their website to see if they are delivering to your area. Seems to be for GTA only.

https://www.cookin.com/

Bonus: use COOKIN40 coupon code for $40 off on your first order (min $60 order). So you can get $110 worth of food for only $20 ($110 - $50 credit - $40 coupon)

Downloaded the app earlier out of curiosity. Think of it as Uber Eats for homecooked meals instead of restaurants. Not sure how I feel about it, for a variety of reasons:
  • Food safety
  • Lack of ratings/reviews of the food
  • High prices on the food near me - especially since the food should technically have lower overheard without a brick and mortar restaurant
  • Food safety (again)

That is an interesting concept. I did not know about it. Unfortunately not available in my area.

Found this on the website: https://www.cookin.com/food-safety

You're right, though. Food safety is a big must and the little blurb on the site doesn't inspire much confidence.

Is there no way to check it out without downloading the app?

Downloaded the app anyways, and now is there no way to check it out without registering/making an account using phone number?

Can't even get past the phone number during sign up. Keeps saying invalid number no matter which legit mobile number I use (not voip).

Interesting concept
Not the only app I've seen like this

Home cooking got a big push through selling on social media during the pandemic

Curious how this app will actually do
Ebay - 340 - 0 - 0 | Heatware - 56 - 00 - 0
BST Feedback - 82 - 0 - 0 | Grailed - 126 - 0 - 0
Poshmark and Styleforum Feedback as well

No, you won't be able to order $90 of food for $0. The $50 statement credit is from Amex and that will come after end of June or later.

The $40 coupon will apply when you order.

Usually Amex posts credits within a few days but their terms state much longer

But we can still order $90+ minus $40 coupon, and just pay $50+, then wait for the $50 credit?

I guess we are just wondering why you used a $110 order as your example
