You can always book refundable ones and cancel after getting the credit

I heard the annual fee is 150 for existing cardholders for the 1st year.

Its only $150AF for existing cardholders if your renewal date is before October 18. After that youll get renewed at the new $250AF

Eligible to get the card, but welcome bonus will be ymmw. I’m in same situation, going to wait for some DPs before taking a shot.

That's a common feature of travel medical insurance on any card. You don't need to put any spending on the card to qualify for the medical coverage. Which makes sense, since it's quite possible to travel outside of Canada without spending any money at all to get there, like day trips to the USA (when we are allowed to again of course).

So I decided to get a grown-up cc after all this time but the heck is an RSVP code?!

Edit: saw the code in the op and i used it but according to the op, I'll only be approved if I received an email however, I was never an Amex customer. Will I definitely be rejected if I fill out this application? What are my chances? If 0%, how do I join the mailing list?

The only thing you'll miss out on is the 5,000 of bonus points. I hope you went through GCR to get your $120.

Sorry, yes! GCR = Great Canadian Rebates. I should have typed it out.

It's currently $120. There is a link a few posts up.

Found it! Thanks for letting me know! The $50 was for Gold Business, which was at the top of the list. The personal one was further down.
