Amex offer $20 off $80 at Instacart (YMMV)

Retailer:
Instacart
Found this under Amex offer. Maybe a god deal if shopping at RCSS? Think they raise prices at other locations.

We used instacart for a month, and it was brutal. Costs were way higher than in-store prices, and they don't update prices to reflect flyer promos. We bailed as soon as the month was over (express membership).

Good deal for those who like/use instacart, though!

Had a similar experience. Stuff is generally 10% higher on the website compared to in store and a lot of the sales are not reflected. 1 item was totally missing (which was a key ingredient in several dishes) and one was damaged. The resolution process was pretty painless though and they provided a credit.

Only used it at the start of the lock down when fear was at a high point.

Not a bad deal considering you can make multiple transactions that sum up to $80. Expires Jul 31 for me, so lots of time.

"To be eligible for a $20 (CAD) statement credit, one single qualifying purchase or cumulative qualifying purchase(s) that total at least $80 (CAD) after taxes, tip and applicable fees, must be charged to your registered Card at www.instacart.ca or on the Instacart mobile application during the offer period and subsequently posted to your account."

FYI - if you order from Walmart - they use in store prices (at least in Ottawa). You can't price match but at least there is no mark-up.

Got it on my personal platinum. Don't know if I'll use it though. Never a fan of instacart.

I just used twice to redeem their welcome credits. This service is expensive but pretty good. Customer support is also good and responsive. I had few issues with missing items, and it got resolved quickly.

Actually I came here to post the thread, now left the comment only :)

I’ve worked for Instacart in the past. One word of caution is that if you’re buying only a little over $80 and a product is out of stock, Instacart may refund you for the item and take you under the $80 required to qualify for this offer.
