I say just follow the instructions. Wait 10 days, and if you don't hear back from Amex then call them.
Yea it's different as I was supposed to get approved in 60 seconds. I think my chances are slim :(

Call them now. It happened to me as well, for this card, and for the Gold Rewards card I applied to in April. If you call them they'll just give you a series of Transunion questions to answer to, and then they'll process your application right away.

EDIT: I applied again and got this message, am I in trouble?

GTEH!
Still waiting for the new card. It's been a couple weeks since I was approved for it.

Should've waited to see if they would convert the TrueEarnings card to the SimplyCash card. Oh well.

Provided your account is in good standing, cash back can be earned on purchases less returns and other credits. Cash back is applied as a credit to your account annually and will appear on the statement issued in September of each year. The cash back calculation resets annually. There is no limit to the amount of cash back you can earn. Interest, fees, balance transfers, Amex cheques and charges for travellers cheques and foreign currencies are not purchases and do not earn cash back rewards. All references to you means the Basic Cardmember.
