Any brick layers tips for cleaning bricks after DIY repair?

I had 2 sets of windows sills at the back of the house that needed replacing after the majority of bricks cracked.

Either the house shifted or there was never enough slope for drainage.

Anyways, I had left over matching bricks from converting my 2 door garage to a single...( to get my boat in of course ).

Well I replaced all the broken bricks and tried to keep as clean as possible but there is a "glaze" of mortar from my messy job covering most of the bricks.

I tried washing with a hose and soft brushing it off after the bricks dried but there is still a glaze.

Do I have to just keep repeating till its gone or do I have to use acid? Soap?

Any help appreciated..Thx ahead.

did u replace a brick window sill with another brick window sill? its strongly recommended to use a solid stone window sill, try to get one piece if possible, using bricks for your window sill you will need to replace it again in a few years especially if you get a lot of rain downpour on that side of your house

pics would be best , try going to a brick supply store and see what they suggest .

warm water and a steel brush and elbow grease might help as well

Try a stiff bristle brush first, it should get rid of most of it

They spray chemical on the brick and it cleans them. I forgot the ask the mason when he was doing it, but it made the house look totally different (in a good way) You could always try calling a company like Brampton brick

muriatic acid and a brush. Rinse thouroughly. Cover any grass, trees, etc. where it could spill and where it will flow when you rinse it off.
